Today John Bohner was sworn into congress as the Speaker of the House. His first order of business? Having other Tea Party members read out the entirety of the Constitution.
I don't even know where to begin. So they're going to read aloud the thing that proves they're wrong about most things? Will they convienently skip over the bits that count African-Americans as 3/5ths of a person? Will they realise that the Constitution was not written by conservative people? Will they realise that the constitution is generally liberalist and nationalist? Will they realise that the Consitution says, 'and CONGRESS shall have the power' multiple times-- nothing about the states going batshit and doing whatever the hell the five crazy people in their senate somehow force everyone else to do.
And for fuck's sake, the thing is not a holy document. This is why we consistently amend the damn thing. (And those amendments, by the way? The majority of them are liberal.)
*I feel like I need to apologise for the cursing lately. I know I'm doing it. That would be Chicago's influence.

So we've finally come to the point where I'm getting married in, what is it now, fourteen days? I've been being good, diligently working on my vows and everything. I've narrowed the references to my drug years down to just one, but even so, everyone invited is in for some wonderful Story Time With Mark Harden... and some incredibly heartfelt stuff about much I love my fiancée.
Two weeks. Weird.
In other news, Chicago is gorgeous this afternoon.

I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet, but I'm just going to put it out there: I may not be around this weekend, what with a campaign in Chicago and a possible DADT vote down in DC, but if I come back and find out that my baby sister has even a hair on her head singed after simply trying to go to church, heads --or whatever body part happens to be most convenient-- will roll.
Now please go watch my last episode of The Politics Fix on CNN. Ever.

An eight and a half hour filibuster really takes a lot out of a person. It's not really the kind of thing you want to precede a funeral, but here we are. I'm mentally exhausted, and while I'd prefer to be flying back home, I'm flying to Chicago which, at last check, is sitting at eight degrees.
Eight. Degrees.
The things I do for my friends, yeah?
Kids, your Aunt Connie is coming to stay for awhile. Something about asbestos in her apartment complex.

We lost Elizabeth today, and I'm mature enough to put aside any differences John and I had over his behavior during and before the last election to go down there and pay my respects.
Anything to take my mind off this taxes fiasco.

Wouldn't be Thanksgiving without James and I breaking each other's bones. Unfortunate, seeing as how I like this nose.

I have about a month of shows left. Holy shit that went fast.
Chicago this weekend, and pretty much every weekend from now until the switch.

A stuffed bear and bouquet?
So my mood's that obvious? What gave it away? Was it when I called him and told him, one liberal pundit to another, that if he gives a mea culpa I'll break his knees myself?
Thanks to whoever, anyway.
